The city police on Thursday imposed Section 144 at the Secretariat premises till November 18 following an alert issued by the intelligence department that Telangana activists may attack the Secretar-iat during the Telangana march on September 30. A public notice to this effect has been displayed in front of C-Block, in which the CM’s Office is located.
The Secretariat will be shut down for two days completely on September 29 and 30 as a precautionary measure. The Ganesh immersion will take place on September 29 followed by the march the next day. Since both these events will be held at Tank Bund in front of the Secr-etariat, and involve large crowds, the police has decided to lock the Secretariat gates to prevent any incident.
