A pregnant woman was allegedly burnt to death for dowry in Dehat area of the district on Monday. Gudda Devi (21), who was married to one Jhinkan four years ago was being harassed for dowry and on Monday her husband and mother-in-law allegedly set her on fire, said Manik Chand Saroj, Assistant Superintendent of Police.
An FIR has been lodged and both the accused have been arrested, Saroj said, adding that the body has been sent for post mortem examination.
