A home ministry official was allegedly robbed of cash and jewellery by three unidentified bikers in the Dilshad Garden area of west Delhi on Friday morning.
The police officials said the victim, identified as Arun Aggarwal, who works as personal secretary of a joint secretary in the home ministry, was on his way to New Delhi r
ailway station on Friday morning to catch a train to Punjab when the incident happened. Police sources revealed that Mr Aggarwal, a resident of E 105 in Dilshad Garden, was waiting near E. block in the area to catch an autorickshaw when three unidentified bikers appeared at the spot.
The police said one of the bikers asked him to handover cash and jewellery he was wearing but Mr Aggarwal put up a resistance. “Sensing that the victim may raise alarm, one of the assailants took out a revolver and asked him to handover his belongings. Mr Aggarwal then handed them his gold chain and wallet,” a senior police official said.
“We received a complaint from Mr Aggarwal and a case has been registered against unknown assailants. An investigation has been started and we will nab the accused,” the official said.
