“I might have made a few mistakes during my nine-year rule as the Chief Minister, but I am ready to correct them,” said Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu during the second day of his padayatra on Wednesday. Mr Naidu resumed his padayatra from Kollaku-nta at around 11.45 am, and interacted with people, eliciting information about their problems. “The inept rule of the Congress and the corruption since 2004 had made life for the people miserable,” he said, claiming that his regime was transparent and prosperous.
He alleged that the Congress had robbed all the resources of the state. Stating that he was not after power, Mr Naidu said that the time has come to put an end to the Congress rule. “Never before had the state faced such an acute power crisis like now,” he said, referring to 17-day power shutdown to industries in a month. “As a result, around 30,000 small-scale industries in the state are facing closedown,” he said. Mr Naidu asked the people to launch an attack on the Congress and to fight for their rights and promised to remove liquor belt-shops from the state if he gets the chance. Accompanying Mr Naidu, his son N. Lokesh looked proactive, intermittently passing on suggestions to the TD chief.
