D. Venkata Krishna Reddy, an agriculturist has filed a PIL in the High Court, seeking a direction to the state government to resume 3.12 acres allotted to minister T.G. Venkatesh and his daughter in Shamshabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district. The land was allocated as part of compensation package under the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project.
Mr Reddy alleged that an undue favour was extended to the minister and his daughter’s company, Brilliant Bio Pharma Ltd, on the pretext that the allotment was made in lieu of land acquired for the ORR project. He said the GO issued to allot the land had no reference of any village or person from whom land was acquired. Alleging that the land was allotted to construct a hotel, Mr Reddy urged the court to restrain the minister from changing the nature of the land.
