Women of substance are using nail art to make a statement, and not just of the fashionable kind. Instead, they’re using it to declare their political affiliations, and show their support to various causes.
Pop icon Katy Perry was photographed just this week wearing the colours of the Democratic party on her pretty nails. And true to her vivacious nature, Katy didn’t just play it safe with pink, blue and white: Instead, there were little donkeys (the Democrat symbol) and little Obama faces gracing her tips.
Rapper Eve opted for a sober manicure in black, with an imprint of Barack Obama on her thumbnail. Other celebrities are using nail art to mark special occasions, like Zooey Deschanel did at the Emmy Awards. The actress, who had an Emmy nod for New Girl, had a cute little TV screen done up on her nails.
