IAS officer: I did my job honestly

Senior IAS officer from Haryana Ashok Khemka, who was recently transferred by the state government for allegedly ordering a probe into the land deals of Robert Vadra, on Tuesday told the media that he does not know the reason for his transfers as he did his job honestly.
The 1991-batch IAS officer said, “I have suffered 40 transfers in 20 years. I would want to know why I am transferred so that I can take corrective action and become a better civil servant. The frequent transfers are dehumanising, stressful and has adversely affected my family life.”
Mr Khemka, who is reported to have exposed irregularities in land deals, was transferred out just three days after he ordered a probe into some of Mr Robert Vadra’s land deals with real estate giant DLF.
It is worth mentioning that Mr Khemka issued an order on his last day in office on October 15, cancelling the mutation of a 3.5-acre plot of land in Manesar-Shikohpur that Mr Vadra had sold to DLF for `58 crore.
Meanwhile, Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday said that he has directed chief secretary P.K. Chaudhery to examine the assertions made by the IAS officer.
The chief minister, who was replying to the questions of mediapersons, said that the government was not favouring anyone and was acting in a neutral manner. In case the assertions made by the IAS officer proved someone guilty in the inquiry, action would be taken against the defaulter, the chief minister said.
