[1]With the music industry and media going crazy over Lady Gaga, here comes another piece of news from the maverick singer, who now plans to perform with corpses in her upcoming concerts. The singer is already famous (as well as infamous) for her “unique” fashion sense and outrageous stints among her fans. We checked with Gaga fans and music lovers about the idea. Is it too disturbing or just another publicity gimmick for the singer? Earlier too, at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, the blood smeared performance by the singer was criticised by many, who found the act too disturbing and loud.
Sarthak Sharma, an advertising professional opines, “More than her music, the singer is the news for all the wrong reasons. Her latest video Alejandro, has already been criticised by religious groups for portraying a dark gothic image. I feel she should concentrate more on her music rather than making controversial statements and doing bizarre things on and off stage.”
While many youngsters feel the Poker Face singer does everything for publicity, her fans think it’s the other way round. Suchitra Gupta, a DU student admits she is a great fan of Lady Gaga and likes the idea of her quirky public performances.
She says, “I think as an artiste she has the liberty to experiment with various looks and themes. The singer likes to bring out the whole concept of goth alive on stage with various elements like blood, satins and corpses. She has never done anything halfway and has been a breakthrough performer. She goes to the extreme for her fans, just to entertain and show her fans what she thinks and feels about a certain issue.”
