The devil’s all set to party! The red ‘devil horns’, whacky wigs and masks are in vogue. In the ongoing festive revelry, the city has yet another reason to party. Come October 31 and the happening nightspots will transform into spooky hangouts to celebrate Halloween.

“This year, we will decorate the entire place with traditional carved and hollowed pumpkin shells with lights inside them, have a costume party and interesting music. We are also planning to give away prizes for the best dressed couples. Blood Red Punches will also be doing the rounds,” says Sidhart Talwar, director, Café Morrison. They are also planning to have a small kiosk selling masks, wigs and other Halloween stuff within the café for last-minute party-hoppers.
The moment one thinks of Halloween, the imagery of evil, occult and mythical monsters surround us. “Black and orange are the traditional Halloween colours and therefore, we used them amply wherever possible. Pumpkins, corn husk and scarecrows added to the fun. We dressed up some of the attendants in mummy theme,” added Akshay Luthria, co-owner of Lemp Brewpub & Kitchen. Celebrating the Halloween night on October 27 itself, Lemp Brewpub & Kitchen also hosted Romanian group Akcent’s live performance.
It is not just the decor and ambience that the nightspots are considering. “Our chefs and bartenders have specially crafted a Halloween menu that include Swamperella (salmon & avacado quesdiallas), Alien Autopsy (veg canapé platter) and pork bites and cocktails like Blood On the Roof and Devil’s Fire,” says Keshav Suri, founder, Kitty Su, The Lalit. Smoke House Grill and Shroom are other popular nightspots that will be hosting Halloween bashes.
Party Hunterz, a one stop party shop, has launched a new range of products. “We have accessories such as a bloody knife going through the head, arrow through head, bleeding skeleton gloves and masks and fake vampire blood,” adds Aditya Kapur, owner, Party Hunterz
Sangeeta Menon and her friends host Halloween nights every year. She says,“Every year we meet up at a friend’s place, wear whacky costumes and a lot of make-up. This year we plan to do a bit of party-hopping!”
