Estranged for years following a bitter inheritance battle, two Bangladeshi brothers reunified on the streets of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, in a typical Bollywood movie arrangement.
A Bangladeshi sweeper working in the holy city was shocked to find a man, in Hajj attire, approaching him and holding him in tight embrace.
The man turned out to be his estranged elder brother, who had deprived him of his rightful inheritance running into millions, the Saudi's news site Sabq reported.
The siblings belonged to a wealthy family in Bangladesh but the elder brother had denied the younger a share of the inheritance estimated in million in cash, in addition to other properties.
The dejected younger brother had opted to leave Bangladesh and came to Mecca, where he worked as a sweeper, the news report said.
While performing Hajj, the elder brother relentlessly searched for his wronged brother and, after finding him toil as a sweeper, chose to do penance for his sins.
The sweeper said that he had forgiven his brother who had apologised profusely and that he was ready to return home.
The elder brother said he had been diagnosed with cancer and that he was not sure how long he would live.
"I will always be kind with the poor and the needy. I have learned a lot about deprivation and poverty in the last five years. I will always be fair with everyone after I lived through years of injustice," the sweeper said.
The duo, who had not seen each other for over five years, will now share the family fortune.
