After two major debacles — Kidnap and Luck — Imran Khan is all set to hit the box office with the upcoming romantic tale I Hate Love Story’s. And unlike the innocent boy that he played in his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Imran will be seen playing a complete Casanova in IHLS opposite Sonam Kapoor.
The actor, who hopes to recreate the magic of his debut Jaane Tu…with Genelia D’souza, can’t help, but compare his co-stars in the two films. And the most striking difference between Sonam and Genelia, according to him is that while Sonam comes prepared on the sets, Genelia was always spontaneous.
“Sonam is well composed and rehearses her dialogues and scenes well in advance. When she comes on the set, she knows how I am going to attempt my next scene. Whereas Genelia is more spontaneous. She always surprised me on the sets of Jaane Tu…” he says.
Imran adds that he was really surprised by the spontaneity of Genelia. “It was good because that role needed her to be like that. She used to take me by surprise many a times,” he says, adding, “But unlike them I rely a lot on my co-stars. It makes me feel better.”
Speaking about director Punit Malhotra, who is debuting with IHLS, he says, “This is not the first time I have worked with a first time director. But Punit and I got along very well. We speak the same language. Working with Punit was fun because we understand what we want,” he says.
Imran is looking forward to the release of the film, however
he rues that the title was not in Hindi. “Even my fiancée Avantika liked the film, but she did not like the title. She said it had to be in Hindi,” he said.
