Liquor baron Ponty Chadha, brother die in firing

Controversial liquor baron Ponty Chadha was killed by his brother at the former's farmhouse in Mehrauli on Saturday, police said.

In exchange of fire, Chadha's guard also killed his brother Hardeep Chadha. Reports also said that the liquor baron and brother shot at each other after scuffle.

Ponty, whose full name is Gurdeep Singh Chadha, owned a business empire worth over Rs 6,000 crore - the Wave Group. He is closely associated with many politicians of Uttar Pradesh.

Chadha's brothers and sons are also part of the group. Chadha was born in a poor family in Uttar Pradesh but made his way to the top after his father Kulwant Singh Chadha managed to get license of a wine shop.
