A failed gear box combined with a problem with the windscreen ruined Gaurav Gill’s plans of a podium finish as the MRF driver ended the race seventh at the International Rally of Whangarei, the third round of the 2010 FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) here on Sunday.
The gear box failure occurred during the second stage of the day (the 10th stage of the event) and Gaurav was understandably upset with the result.
“It is extremely demoralising and one can’t do anything about it.
“My gear box went for a toss and only the second gear was working. I completed the race on the second gear,” Gill said.
