John-Bips set for a box office clash

Ever since their rather public break-up, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham have tried to keep out of each other’s way. But while they’ve studiously managed to avoid reports of acrimony, the couple is heading towards a major showdown — albeit at the box office.

“John’s I, Me Aur Main and Bipasha’s Aatma are both slated to release on March 1, and with neither party showing signs of backing down just yet, there could be a clash in the making,” said one trade expert.
In all fairness, the Aatma team had settled on the March 1 date months in advance while I, Me Aur Main’s plans were only just confirmed, the film having been delayed for a long time. Incidentally, John is also a co-producer of I, Me Aur Main.
“It remains to be seen if Bips’ team will back down. Because if the two films do proceed as per plan, then there are bound to be a few fireworks in store,” our source warned.
For now, it’s wait and watch time, as neither Bips nor John have commented on the clash so far. But with the bitterness that has lurked just beneath the surface ever since their sudden split, we’re sure the last thing the couple wants is for the rift to widen.
