Love her or hate her, the Indian-origin Canadian star Sunny Leone is the talk of the town in the real as well as the virtual world. Sunny, who was recently in town to perform at a New Year bash at Studio 169, is all upbeat about her Ekta Kapoor’s Ragini MMS 2, a sequel to 2011 film, Ragini MMS.
The 31-year-old, who made her Bollywood debut with Jism 2, now wants to be taken seriously in the industry.
Talking about her image in the Bollywood film industry, Sunny says, “I am just one-film old. But I am good learner and hopeful that people will recognise my worth. I want to be offered good roles so that I get the right opportunity to prove my talent.”
When asked if she is comfortable with the tag of a “porn star”, Sunny says, “My porn star career has been a topic of discussion in India ever since I landed here. I am very confident about myself and I am a no-nonsense person. Hopefully perception of people changes with time, after they discover my acting talent,” Sunny said.
Among Bollywood actresses, she finds Vidya Balan quite inspirational. She says. “Vidya’s acting is so genuine. Breaking the conventional norms, she has proved that actresses are not required to be mere decked up dolls to survive in Bollywood.”
Sunny, who rose to fame in India after participating in Bigg Boss 5, says the reality show was a turning point in her career. “I love Bigg Boss. My career took a 360 degrees turn after participating in the show,” she said.
So what does the sizzling beauty like about Delhi? Sunny loves the array of options available for street food lovers in the capital. She says, “I am fond of the street food, especially the spicy golgappas and I love Punjabi tadka in the food available here.”
