Sarthak Sabbarwal’s (5/180) spell of incisive bowling helped Sonnet Club beat Queta DAV Academy by 85 runs in the 6th Kishan Sehwag memorial U-12 cricket tournament here on Sunday.
Batting first, Sonnet posted a competitive 216/8 in 40 overs. Sanath Sangwan struck a fluent knock of 70 and was well supported by Vatsal Sharma, who hit 47. Queta DAV Academy’s bowlers failed to provide regular breakthroughs allowing their opposition to get past the 200-run mark. Only Nitesh Rawat (3/20) managed to leave an impression on Sonnet’s batsmen.
In reply, Queta DAV Academy was blown away by Sabbarwal’s initial burst. Piyush Gohar (44) and J.S. Biduri (22) tried their best to keep their team in contention but could not avert a big loss.
