[1]In a matter of 10 months, Akshay Kumar will be seeing the release of his sixth film Special 26. For any current superstar in the industry, this is a huge record by all margins. And Akshay is showing no signs of slowing down.
Q From Housefull 2 last year to Special 26 now — you seem to be on a record-making spree...
I know ! I just think I have an addiction. Most men of my age take up casual drinking or gambling, or buy a top of the range sports car. As for me, I just can’t get enough of my work.
Q Guess you are not looking at slowing down at all.
Not for now. There are so many ideas and so many great people who want to make films. I wish I had time to do them all and give them opportunities (winks).
Q Well, you seem to have done that with Neeraj Pandey in a major commercial set up.
This is not a major commercial set up. Special 26 is one of a kind. The dry humour is classically entertaining but not all people across India will get it — it’s not their kind of funny. The cerebral action is something that I have never done before as I am more of a raw action kinda guy; so that’s a refreshing touch for all. The fact that it’s a periodic film based on a real life story stops it from being commercial and it instantly becomes an epic drama.
