Saif finally joins the 100 crore club

It’s been a long wait, but Saif’s 100 crore glory is finally here. Race 2 has managed to cross the 100 crore mark at the box office, putting Saif in the exclusive club. The Abbas-Mustan directed film, which opened to average reviews and mixed audience reactions managed to hang on for a good two weeks, possibly due to the little threat posed by Vishwaroopam and David, apart from the fact that it opened on the Republic Day weekend.

“Saif was quite disappointed when Agent Vinod didn’t do well last year. He was hoping for it to be a 100 crore film. Thankfully Cocktail came as a respite, turning out to be a clean hit,” says a close associate, adding, “It was long due. All his contemporaries are part of the ‘club’ and it was time he had his big hit too.”
