Making a difference with new ideas

College days indeed are the most lively days of one’s life and it becomes more fun when you are part of an out-of-the-box national conference.
I was recently contacted by my seniors Niharika Bhatia and Natasha Sahoo from Economics (Hons.) for their event “The Last Verdict” based on the book The Turning Point by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The conference has six agendas like Nuclear power and National Security, Social Responsibilities, Laws and Jurisdiction, FDI, Retail and International Trade, Research and Development, Globalisation and Entrepreneurship. Each agenda would be followed by a 30-minute interactive session by 30 eminent speakers.
One might think this will be like any usual session based on long learning lectures but for us Mirandians it is being planned with a difference. All students have to stay attentive during all the sessions, as they will be provided real situations to which they will have to provide the most apt verdict.
By the end of the conference every individual would submit five verdicts that would thereafter be assessed by the college professors giving them a chance to win prizes worth `30,000. The conference is on February 18 and 19 and we are really looking forward to it.
