Talks between the external affairs minister, Mr S.M. Krishna, and his counterpart Mr Shah Mahmood Qureshi, were extended to another session later on Thursday with both sides indicating that there were some "positive developments"
The two ministers met at the Pakistan foreign office for nearly three hours which included a working lunch after which they were scheduled to hold a joint press conference.
However, it was decided that they would meet once again later in the day and then hold the press conference at 1830 hours IST.
In between, Mr Krishna will call on Pakistan President, Mr Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister, Mr Yusuf Raza Gilani.
This morning's talks were focused on a host of bilateral issues with India flagging its concerns over terrorism emanating from Pakistan and pressing for action against those involved in Mumbai terror attacks, particularly in the light of revelations by Pakistani-American LeT operative David Headley.
