[1]Ayan Mukerji is one dedicated director. For his film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ayan wanted to make sure that he got the most scenic parts of Kashmir at the highest altitudes. Left without a choice, the entire cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin had to comply and trudge along the steepest mountains at the lowest of temperatures. “He picked the most virgin of locations that were the most difficult to access. Even Karan Johar who is producing the film gave Ayan all the freedom to experiment with locations. The temperature at these places was always close to minus 10 degrees with the snow up to the knees. At some point it did get overwhelming for the cast who are not otherwise used to such extreme weather conditions,” says a source.
It wasn’t easy, but fun nevertheless, says Kalki. “We were taken care of, but it was definitely tough shooting at such high altitudes especially since there were no vanity vans either. Which basically means that we were freezing throughout and so were our Maggi noodles,” she quips.
