The Madhya Pradesh government and more particularly its higher bureaucracy is finding itself in an embarrassing situation as the wife of state cadre IAS officer E. Ramesh Kumar, now on inter cadre deputation to Andhra Pradesh, has written a letter to the state chief secretary accusing her husband of indulging in large-scale corruption.
According to available information, the wife of the IAS officer in question has written to Madhya Pradesh chief secretary R. Parasuram saying that she is being tortured and is going through endless mental agony because her husband has been indulging in corruption. Her husband has left a trail of corruption right through his several postings in Madhya Pradesh, the aggrieved wife has alleged adding that there is no end to this problem even after his inter cadre deputation to Andhra Pradesh.
The Madhya Pradesh chief secretary, who is away and would return to Bhopal on Monday was not available for comments. Additional chief secretary home I.S. Dani, who is holding additional charge of chief secretary, told this newspaper that “a letter” has been received from Dr Kumar’s wife but refused to elaborate.
Dr. Kumar, a 1999 batch IAS officer borne on the MP cadre, began his career as SDO Narsinghpur in July 2001.
He became municipal commissioner Dhar in 2004 and in 2006 was posted as collector Dindori.
Later that year he was appointed as collector Khargone.
