Bizman killed in TN, body disposed in AP
Chennai: A railway police probe into the missing businessman from Chennai Central station led to house of a woman in Veppumpattu, near Chennai, to where the missing man was lured by her and murdered on May 30.
The woman, her husband and her lover had killed Kalimuthu, 42, egg businessman from Villivakkam, chopped his body into pieces before dumping them near Pitchur lake of Chittoor district, in Andhra Pradesh.
Velu and Sujatha.
The police had arrested Velu, 25, the associate of the couple. “The couple is on the run. It looks like the woman, Sujatha, 33, used to ‘entertain’ Kalimuthu at her house on a regular basis. She had seen her parmour wearing heavy gold chain and carrying bundles of currency notes with him whenever he visited her.
So, she had planned the murder with her husband and lover Velu so that they could become rich overnight. On the day of his death, Kalimuthu was carrying `50,000 cash and wearing a 10 sovereign gold chain,” the police informed. The killers had carried the body pieces, packed in sacks, on two-wheelers. The trunk and arms were burnt at one place, while the head was disposed 10 km away.
“On the confession of Velu, the burnt body pieces were located and sent for post-mortem to the government hospital in Kalahasti in Chittoor. We are hopeful of arresting the couple soon,” the police noted.
The police had managed to zero in on the accused by tracking the mobile phone call records and its signals. “There were blood stains all over Sujatha’s house though they had cleaned the entire house using three bottles of floor cleaner,” noted inspector Sekar of the central railway station, who led the investigation in the case.

Hyderabad: City Cyber crime police find it difficult to solve online lottery fraud cases (also known as Nigerian lottery fraud) despite many trained cops being recruited in the department.
More than 75 per cent of online lottery fraud cases in 2012 at Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates are still under investigation. Many similar cases from previous years are also pending as the accused are mainly foreigners.
Though police did crack a few cases by tracing the IP addresses and following up on other clues, the crooks are still keeping the cops on their toes as they operate from other countries with the help of “agents” in India.
Senior police officials admit that if the fraudster is somewhere in the African continent or in countries with which India has no extradition treaty, it’s almost impossible to nab them. In most of the cases, the culprits, mainly Nigerians, run back to their country or any other foreign nation before the police can reach them.
“In some cases the main accused sit in their own country and operate from there. They may have agents in our country to conduct the financial transactions. Even if police catch the agents, the mastermind behind the offence would still be at large,” said a senior police official from Cyberabad, where only three cases of online lottery frauds have been detected in the last year.Earlier, the city police had cracked the cases and arrested the crooks with the help of police from other cities, including Mumbai.
