Kochi: The launch of the Malayalam farm portal of the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University www.kasavu.in [2], its web channel and radio channel for farmers, entrepreneurs, students and public and the inauguration of the Centre for Livestock Development and Policy Research and the Research and Training Centre will be done by Ministers K P Mohanan and K C Joseph respectively at Hotel Mascot in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.
The farm portal is intended to create awareness on livestock farming and entrepreneurship among farmers, entrepreneurs and non-resident Keralites. Taking into account the increasing requirement of farm journalists, the Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU has also invited applications for distance learning programmes under technology enabled mode.
They include Diploma in Office and Public Administration, Livestock Agri Entrepreneurship Management and Farm Journalism. The Livestock Centre envisages undertaking academic and research programmes in livestock, dairy and poultry economics, livestock and animal husbandry statistics, animal population studies, policy Research and computer application.
