Visakhapatnam: The police,on Saturday arrested a 48-year-old doctor for allegedly molesting his patient at Yoganandha private clinic at Araku Valley, in Vizag.
Inspector, K. Kumara Swami said the 24-year-old victim and her brother, residents of Sivalingapuram area, came to Araku Valley on Friday to purchase some provisions during the weekly-market. Suddenly, the victim collapsed and was taken to  Yoganandha private clinic for a check up.
While treating her, doctor M. Sankara Rao allegedly molested her. Shocked and frightened the girl ran away from the clinic and narrated the matter to her brother. They then lodged a complaint at Araku Valley police station. The doctor is booked under Section 345 (Assault or force a woman with intent to outrage her modesty)  of IPC.

Greater Noida: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped at gunpoint in a computer training centre in Habibpur village, police said today. Zakir, an employee at the centre where the victim was enrolled, raped the girl on June 8 and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident, police said.
The accused had allegedly asked the victim to stay back and committed the crime after all other students had left, they said, adding that he has been arrested. Two days after the incident, the girl had stopped going to the centre as she could not face the accused who again threatened her, police said.
The victim went into depression and it was only last night that she confided in her parents about the incident, they said. "FIR was lodged at Bisrakh police station. Zakir has been arrested," a senior police officer said.

25-yr-old woman found murdered
Hyderabad: A woman, aged about 25, was found murdered at the Kokapet Special Economic Zone. Her head was smashed with boulders. The body of the victim, who is yet to be identified, was found by the locals who informed the Narsingi cops. Cops are trying to verify if she was also raped before being killed.
“The victim’s head was smashed with boulders. She was wearing a red and yellow salwar kameez,” a cop said. The body has been sent to Osmania General Hospital for post mortem and a case has been booked.

20 kids injured in school bus accident
Hyderabad: Twenty students were inju-red at Rayakode, Medak, after their speeding school bus ran off the road and turned turtle before landing in a nala at Ulgar village on Saturday.
The students of Srivani Vidyamandir are still in critical condition, the copssaid. All injured students are admitted to Zaheerabad government hospital. The incident occurred at 9 am when the bus was heading towards the school at Nyalkal mandal.
“The bus ran off the road and landed in shallow water body. We suspect the negligence of driver caused the accident,” Rayakode sub-inspector P. Srinivas said.

Asifnagar godown catches fire
Hyderabad: A minor fire accident occurred at a godown in Asifnagar, Jirra Road, destroying property worth `3 lakh. However, no causalities were reported. The godown contained waste paper and cotton boxes. The fire broke out  at 11 am on Saturday. Off-icials suspect that a short circuit may have sparked the fire. The site is currently under investigation.

‘Wanted’ conman commits suicide

Bengaluru: A 54-year-old investment businessman and an IIM alumnus wanted in several cases of cheating in Gujarat, Maharashtra and even in Karnataka, hanged himself at his rental apartment in Ashwini Layout on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased, Ripon Malhotra, hailed from Pune and was mainly into stock broking and investment business. He owned Rippsons India Pvt Ltd that dealt with asset management, private equity and proprietary investments, stock broking and related activities in financial services. He also ran a manufacturing business, besides a media group that was involved in entertainment.
It is alleged that Mr Malhotra had duped several people of over `200 crore. He was living alone in Bengaluru, while his wife Alphonsa Malhotra was living with their two children  in Pune.
Mr Malhotra had a cheating case registered against him in 2007 in Pune after several people lodged complaints against him, stating that he had illegally transferred their shares. Later, another case was registered in Gujarat.
Investigating officers said that Mr Sharma’s modus operandi was simple, target the elderly with money. Mr Malhotra allegedly took people into confidence and would illegally transfer their shares into his accounts.
Besides Davangere, cases were also filed against him in Whitefield and MICO Layout. His company has offices in Domlur and Malleswaram, too. While police officials maintained silence on his suicide, it is learnt that on Friday, Mr Ripon Malhotra was called in by the CCB police.
A close friend of Mr Malhotra, who did not wish to be named, told Deccan chronicle, “He had suffered huge losses since 2007. I agree he had cases against him, but he wanted to pay the money back. We did not think he would go to such extremes.”
Mr Malhotra hanged himself at the house owned by a retired army man on No 37, 3rd main, Ashwini Layout, Ejipura. He was last seen on Friday night. Around 12.30 pm on Saturday, the house owner went to Mr Malhotra’s room and found him hanging. He informed the police and the body was sent to Bowring Hospital.

26-year-old killed under wheels of bus
Bengaluru: A 26-year-old man was killed when he accidentally came under the wheels of a KSRTC bus in Yelahanka traffic police limits on Saturday morning. The deceased is Kanagaraju, a resident of Amruthahalli and native of Tamil Nadu.
Kanagaraju was on his way to work at Agarwal Eye Hospital in Yelahanka New Town where he was employed as an attendant when the incident occurred.
Around 10:30 am, Kanagaraju was travelling on the slope in front of the railway bypass, when the driver of a KSRTC bus behind him didn't apply the brakes on time; causing the bus to touch Kanagaraju's two-wheeler from behind.
The victim was thrown off his vehicle and his head came under the front wheels of the bus, killing him on the spot. His body was sent to a local hospital where the post-mortem was performed. Yelahanka traffic police registered a case against the bus driver, Anil Kumar (34), who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
