Telangana action shifts back to Delhi

Hyderabad: The Telangana scene is shifting to Delhi again. Expecting the crucial Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting to be held, before the end of this month, Telangana and Seemandhra ministers, MLAs and other leaders are planning to go Delhi to meet CWC members requesting them to support their stand.The Telangana Congress MPs met on Tuesday, at Delhi, at Zaheerabad MP, Suresh Shetkar’s residence. The Deputy Chief Minister, Damodar Raja Narasimha, Palvai Govardhan Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar, G. Vivek MLC Yadava Reddy and others attended the meeting. They decided to meet all the CWC members and request them to support creation of a separate Telangana state.
Meanwhile, the Seemandhra ministers are meeting on Wednesday to discuss the latest situation. Ministers S. Sailajanath and T.G. Venkatesh, on Tuesday, said if necessary they will go to Delhi to meet CWC and other AICC leaders and request them not to support the state bifurcation.
At present Telangana and Seemandhra MPs at Delhi, are busy meeting AICC leaders and CWC members. Some of the Telangana MLAs and MLCs reached Delhi and some more are on the way.
The Seemandhra ministers will decide their Delhi visit at Wednesday meeting. Meanwhile, the Deputy CM who is camping at Delhi, met defence minister A.K. Antony on Tuesday and requested him to support the call for separate Telangana state.
MP G Vivek also met the Union Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, and requested to take a decision on Telangana at the earliest.
MP Ponnam Prabhakar also met the Prime Minister on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum regarding his constituency problems. Ponnam also discussed the Telangana issue with the Prime Minister, according to sources.
After the meeting with the Union Home Minister, MP Vivek told the media that he had explained to the Union Minister that influx of Naxals will increase if Telangana state is not formed.

Hyderabad: Is Peddapalli MP G. Vivek who had recently joined the TRS really planning to rejoin the ruling Congress? The buzz is that that Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha is secretly facilitating the TRS MP’s ‘homecoming.’
What sparked the speculation is a meeting held between the two in New Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Telangana Congress MPs.
Although Vivek has denied the rumours, Telangana Congress MPs Madhu Yaskhi and Suresh Shektar feel the TRS MP might return.
They said Vivek’s presence in the Telangana MPs’ meeting and his ‘secret’ talks with the Deputy CM were clear indications that the TRS MP’s homecoming was on the cards.
The meeting was held at Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar’s New Delhi residence, in which the Deputy CM was also present. In fact, Vivek had been duly invited to the meeting.
The TRS MP, it might be recalled, had left the Congress as he was miffed with the ruling party leadership for not granting Telangana.
According to sources, during the meeting the T-Congress MPs also suggested that the TRS MP ‘join’ the ruling party because the UPA government might accord statehood to Telangana.
So, Vivek’s ‘homecoming’ is almost sure once the Congress high command gives the green signal to statehood to Telangana, sources said.
“His meeting with the deputy Chief Minister is a sufficient indication that the TRS MP might return to the Congress”, said Telangana Congress MPs Madhu Yaskhi and Suresh Shetkar.
