After winning the first three ODIs, India will be eyeing a whitewash by winning the next two games of the five-match series against Zimbabwe. Virat Kohli has been impressive as captain and the Indian youngsters have fared pretty well under him throughout the series. And Kohli's superb form with the bat has only given an edge to the new-look Indian team.
India may look to test bench strength in fourth ODI
With the series almost coming to an end, Zimbabwe could do itself a world of favour by showing some some fight and character like they did in the second ODI. The Zimbabwean bowling attack has done well in the series by containing the high-profile Indian batsmen on more than one occasion. Here is a look at the battles to watch out for in the fourth ODI:
Shikhar Dhawan vs Brian Vitori: A naturally attacking batsman, Shikhar Dhawan would look to go after Brian Vitori right from the word go and look to dominate him. Dhawan has been in good nick off late and it will be a real challenge for Vitori to stop the run flow from the left-hander's bat. Vitori would look to contain the southpaw and build the pressure which might help him get the better off Dhawan.
Virat Kohli vs MT Chinouya: Virat Kohli has been in tremendous form in this series and as the captain of the Indian side, he is leading from the front by scoring runs at the top of the order. Kohli would look to continue his good run of form and make full use of the opportunities. MT Chinouya, on the other hand, would look to generate some pace and try to get the ball move early on. Chinouya's best chance of picking up the wicket of Kohli would be early on when Kohli is trying to get his eye in.
AT Rayudu vs Prosper Utseya: Ambati Rayudu has had a good outing in Zimbabwe and would look to capitalise on this opportunity of batting up the order. Rayudu would look to take on P Utseya's off-break and not let the off-spinner settle down in a good rhythm. Utseya, on the other hand, would look to entice Rayudu with his flight to go for the big one which is the spinner's best chance of picking up a wicket.
Vinay Kumar vs V Sibanda: Vinay Kumar would be looking to add to his tally of wickets in this tour of Zimbabwe which at the same time can help him to make a case for himself to come back in the national side. He would look to hit the right lengths early on and contain V Sibanda as long as possible. Meanwhile, Sibanda would be tentative early on and would like to keep his wicket intact to give his side a good start.
Mohammad Shami vs Brendon Taylor: Brendon Taylor is also a naturally attacking batsman who would like to make full use of Mohammad Shami's inexperience at the international level by looking to go after him early on, while Mohammad Shami would look to pick up early wickets for his side. Taylor going after Shami might just be a blessing in disguise for the Indian bowler as it can help him get the Zimbabwean out quickly.
Amit Mishra vs E Chigumbura: Amit Mishra has been in a roll with the ball in hand in this series and would like to continue his good work by deceiving the batsmen in the air with his flight and also with his googly which has helped him pick up bulk of the wickets in this series. It will be a challenge for the likes of Chigumbura to pick up the googly right from the hand. Chigumbura although wouldn't mind in giving it the full monty and it will be interesting to see how he handles spin.
