Terming as “outrageous” a Special Protection Group official’s conduct in preventing Tamil Nadu’s DGP from receiving Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at Tiruchy airport Friday, chief minister J. Jayalalithaa demanded action against him.
In a letter to the PM, she said a “suitable regimen” must be put in place to prevent such protocol breaches in future. It was “most astonishing” the SPG couldn’t recognise the DGP (K. Ramanujam) though he was in uniform, she added.
