More Pakistan attacks likely

Bhimbher Gali (J&K): Amid heightened tension along the Line of Control, which has witnessed a spurt in ceasefire violations by Pakistan, Indian Army on Sunday said it has inputs about Pakistan trying to engineer more Border Action Team (Bat) attacks along the borderline.
India has blamed BAT, which is a mix of Pakistani special forces personnel and terrorists, for the brutal killing of its two soldiers in January, one of whom was beheaded, and killing of its five personnel along LoC in Poonch sector.
“There are inputs of such (BAT) actions. In this area they have not done anything so far. There are inputs that they are going to try something (engineer BAT attacks on the forward posts along LoC),” Brigade Commander, 120 Infantry Brigade, A. Sengupta told media here.
Brig. Sengupta was replying to a volley of questions about whet-her there were inputs of more BAT attacks along LoC in Poonch, increase in ceasefire violation and India’s response. “But, we are ready for that (any Pakistani Bat attack)”, he said.
There have been 70 ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops this year from January one to August 5, which is 85 per cent more than the last year during the same corresponding period, Army officials said.
“Pakistan troops have been firing on our forward posts daily for past couple of days. They are firing intensely with mortar bomb, rockets, R.P.G. and high calibre weaponry,” Brigadier Sengupta said.
“Pakistan is not showing any respect to the ceasefire. They are violating it daily by firing at us. Where is sanctity of this truce,” he said, maintaining that Indian troops have always respected the truce despite provocations in the past.  
Infiltration bid foiled in Kupwara
Army on Sunday foiled an infiltration bid by militants near the Line of Control in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir but there was no report of any casualty.
“Alert troops noticed movement of heavily armed militants along the LoC in Keran sector of Kupwara at around 2.30 am. The militants were challenged, triggering-off exchange of firing between the two sides,” an army official said. He said the firing lasted for nearly three hours and the militants have apparently crossed the LoC back in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
“We are not leaving anything to chance and combing operations are going on in the area. So far no recoveries have been made from the scene of the gun battle,” he said. The official said there were no casualties reported in the operation. Infiltration has been on the rise since June.   

UFO sighted along the LAC after a fortnight
New Delhi: Indian Army troops have sighted mysterious unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in the Ladakh sector along the Line of Actual Control with China.
On August 4, Army troops in Lagan Khel area in Demchok, Ladakh sighted an UFO and immediately informed the headquarters. There have been over 100 sightings of UFOs along the LAC in the last several months but this sighting has come after some time-gap, they said.
Asked about the UFO sightings by the troops in Ladakh sector, defence minister A.K. Antony had told the Parliament that there is no conclusive proof of sighting of UFOs over the China-India border.
The UFO sighting on August 4 comes after reports suggested that a top-level science research institute had found that the UFOs were actually planets Jupiter and Venus, which are clearly visible from high altitude and thin atmosphere of Ladakh.
