[1]Hyderabad: Micro and small industries have decided to launch a Gandhiji-styled Satyagraha movement and stop paying taxes as well as stop repaying bank loans from September 1 onward.
The SMSE sector, which has been affected by the Seemandhra agitation, demanded immediate dissolution of the Assembly and resignation of nine ministers from the region. The associations have flagged a demand for Hyderabad as a UT.
Blaming the Seemandhra agitation and its impact on the small industries sector, president of the Federa-tion of AP Industries, B.V. Rama Rao said that the ministers have ignored the problems of the people of the Seemandhra region.
“The small and medium industries have a total loan of Rs 27,000 crore in the state and with the ongoing agitation, over 1,86,000 units have come to a grinding halt.
It is because of selfish interests of the politicians of the Seemandhra region that the small industries sector here is suffering. We are unable to pay back loans,” he said speaking at a press conference.
With each passing day, the sector is loosing an estimated Rs 50 crore and the bank loans are mounting.
