The Association of Concerned Catholics (AOCC) has taken strong objection to the decision by the BMC education officer and deputy director of education to arbitrarily allocate holidays for Ganeshotsav at the cost of Christmas vacations and have sought a meeting with the officials. According to AOCC, the officials have taken a discriminatory decision regarding the compensation of holidays without consulting the schools and have demanded a fair and just hearing for the schools run by Catholic managements.
Judith Monteiro, secretary AOCC said, “We feel betrayed by the department. It is sad that the education department, which is supposed to set an example of equality, justice, etc. in the young minds is not only being unfair, but is setting an open example of disparity.” On his part, Mr Bhise has assured the AOCC that he would sort the matter and ensure that the sentiments of the Catholic community are not hurt.

2 arrested for selling duplicate products
Mumbai: N.M. Joshi Marg police station along with Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) conducted raid at manufacturing unit at Lower Parel, and seized duplicate products that were being stored and sold under the brand name of Canon. During the raid, the EIPR representatives and the police came across duplicate toners, holograms, accessories and machineries that were being sold under the Canon brand name. Balaji Algu Yadav and Bharat Lalji Ravariya have been arrested and FIR has been lodged against the accused.
