A 19-year-old Delhi University student was allegedly raped and blackmailed by her friend in Hauz Khas area of South Delhi.
A senior police official said the accused had made her obscene video using which he was trying to extort money from her. The official said the victim approached the police on September 5. The police arrested the accused on Tuesday. He was identified as Brij Mohan, alias Saurabh. The accused was known to her since her school days. “The accused developed physical relations with her and filmed the act to extort money from her,” said the police official. After getting the medical examination of the girl done, the police filed an FIR under various sections of the IPC and arrested the accused.

Man arrested for stalking woman

A youth has been arrested for allegedly threatening a 25-year-old woman to marry him or face dire consequences. A senior police official said that an FIR was lodges against the accused Subhash Yadav, a resident of Meerut, at the South Campus police station. Yadav was trying to flee to Meerut when he was arrested from the Old Delhi Railway Station. “The victim works in a private firm. She was known to the accused. The accused proposed her but she refused. However, when Yadav kept stalking her, she filed a complaint. An FIR was registered and he was arrested,” he said.

Cops get Tunda’s 7-day custody

A city court on Wednesday remanded LeT bomb expert Abdul Karim Tunda to seven days’ police custody as those allegedly involved for helping him in illegal infiltration of Pakistani nationals are yet to be identified. The special cell produced Tunda before chief metropolitan magistrate Amit Bansal after expiry of his four days’ police custody. The police sought Tunda’s remand till September 18 saying he was to be taken to Pilakhua from where explosives were to be recovered.
