It’s tough but not impossible for Yuvraj

Very few cricketers have sparked that much interest both on and off the field as much as Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj made his debut against Kenya almost 13 years back and since then he had has his fair share of highs and lows.
After making his name at the international level, Yuvraj Singh was dropped from the side due to lack of form until Ganguly brought him back in the spotlight and under Greg Chappell he transformed into a better player.
Yuvraj Singh remains one of the very few players to have won the T20 World Cup in South Africa as well the 2011 World Cup and his performance in both the World Cup's was right out of the top draw. In fact he went a step further to become the ‘Player Of The Series’ in the 2011 World Cup where he scored runs when the team needed it, as well as  giving his side the much needed breakthroughs when the oppositions were looking to run away with the game.
Yuvraj was just getting his act together as a player and was looking to take his game to the next level. His flamboyance both on and off the field has been the talking point for most part of his career and his striking abilities are for everyone to see in a cricket field. Born as a brilliant athlete, Yuvraj is probably one of the cleanest strikers of a cricket ball the world has seen.
But the world came to a standstill after the 2011 World Cup when the news of Yuvraj being diagnosed of cancer broke out. Believe it or not, but the fact to the matter is that he had cancer and it shocked everybody. The thing with sports is that it always gives you a second chance to prove yourself, but that’s not the case with cancer always.
Here, Yuvraj was in the prime of his career and suddenly there was a realisation that he might not have a career or even a normal life again. Most people did not expect Yuvraj Singh to ever turn up in a cricket field. But then he wasn’t an ordinary guy, he was Yuvraj Singh who was special right from the day he had stepped into the field of sports.
Not many people know that tennis and roller skating were among Yuvraj's favourite sports during his childhood and he was quite good at both. He won the National U-14 Roller Skating Championship. His father threw away the medal and told him to forget skating and concentrate on cricket.
And that’s the thing about sports. It teaches you a lot many things as and when you grow up and one of them is it's not whether how you get knocked down; it's more as how you get up after being knocked down. And knowing Yuvraj, it would not take much for a player like him to come back into the side, definitely not when he has come back from the jaws of death where winning was the only choice.
