Stardom is not an easy thing to achieve, and Bipasha Basu was no exception. Like many others she too was a nobody to begin with, and the long innings in her career were no cakewalk. The actress reveals that she had to deal with a lot of pressures during her initial days. The dusky star says that initially people dismissed her as dark and fat. “I had to deal with being an unconventional actress in Bollywood. But I did not crumble under pressure. I took it up as a challenge,” she says.
The actress confesses that she could overcome these challenges because she believed in herself. “I always believe that you should love yourself and be confident of who you are. That always helps. The pressure will be there, but you have to fight back and become a new person at the end of the day.” The secret behind her happiness, she says, is that she seeks realistic things in life and does not live in a make-believe world. “Once you realise what your goals are, try to achieve them through a realistic approach,” she adds.
