A heavy posse of police and the Rapid Action Force was deployed at Khoda Colony in Ghaziabad after a minor road rage incident led to tension and clashes between two communities on Friday morning.
The police arrested three persons for inciting the mob.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 8 am. A senior Ghaziabad police official said that a resident of Khoda Colony rammed his car into a motorcycle. A heated argument ensued between the two which later snowballed into a clash between two groups.
Rapid Action Force was immediately deployed in the area. All the shops and schools were shut down by the administration to avoid any untoward incident.
The Ghaziabad police also conducted a flag march and told the people to maintain peace and not to react to any rumours.
“We have deployed heavy force in the area to maintain law and order. We also have spoken to leaders from both the sides to maintain peace. The police has also filed an FIR and arrested three persons,” said Ghaziabad superintendent of police S.S. Yadav.
