The Union fertiliser ministry may seek the Cabinet’s nod next week on state-owned SAIL’s `35,000 crore proposal to set up a steel plant along with a urea unit on the premises of a closed urea unit in Jharkhand. “The fertiliser ministry has to move the proposal to the Cabinet. This may happen before August 31,” the steel secretary, Mr Atul Chaturvedi, said. According to sources,he wrote to his fertiliser secretary, Mr S. Krishnan, requesting him to expedite the regulatory process for the project. Both the secretaries are due to retire this month.
