Pakistan-based militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has formed “Firki” (a group of expert militants) to motivate the new recruits for carrying out terror activities in India.
According to latest intelligence inputs, members of the new group of JeM are motivating new recruits for carrying out terror activities in Kupwara, Baramulla, Srinagar, Jammu and other major cities of northern India.
“Radio conversation between code-17 (JeM launching point in Pak-occupied Kashmir) and code-Shaheen (militants of newly infiltrated group in Kupwara and Baramulla districts of Jammu and Kashmir), intercepted on September 7 by intelligence agencies reveals that Firki members are motivating them for carrying out terror attacks in the Valley. The new recruits are also being motivated to proceed towards major cities of northern India”, sources said.
Around 24 JeM militants, who recently crossed over to Indian side, are reportedly not accomplishing the assigned task due to fear, sources added.
There are also reports that “Firki” members are threatening civilians and government employees in J&K and asking them to support the jihadis. There are inputs that Firki members, who are directly in touch with their Pakistan-based handlers and top brass of LeT, are based in PoK, sources said.
“The reason behind forming ‘Firki’ is to train and motivate new recruits. Mostly members of the Firki are area commanders of LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Indian Mujahideen. Pakistan-based JeM handlers are coordinating with Fikri members. Recently, nine newly trained militants of JeM returned back to their launching pad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir instead of infiltrating into Kashmir Valley,” sources said.
