Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Monday claimed that the Congress, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD and Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP were part of a single political family and asserted that criticism of each other was a ploy to mislead the people.
“The Congress, RJD and LJP are the parties of a single political family... Their becoming bitter critics of each other at the time of elections is just to mislead the people,” Mr Jaitley said.
He was apparently reacting to RJD vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh’s statement that breaking his party’s ties with the Congress was “a big blunder” and he would seek support from secular parties, including the Congress, for forming the government.
