Hoshiarpur (Punjab), Oct. 18: A dreaded terrorist of Babbar Khalsa outfit fled from the police custody in the wee hours on Monday, following which five cops had been suspended for alleged negligence.
The Hoshiarpur SSP, Mr Rakesh Aggarwal, said that the terrorist Karanvir Singh had, during his interrogation, requested the investigating officer to allow him to go for defecation.
He was allowed to go to the toilet with a duty constable. Once inside the toilet, Karanvir broke open the ventilator and fled under the cover of darkness, he added. A FIR under relevant sections of IPC has been registered in connection with the escape.
