Rhys Ifans loves cooking and even has a “signature dish”. The Welsh actor loves spending time in the kitchen cooking up delicious treats, including his favourite dish of cawl, but finds his busy working life often means he has to eat out or in hotels.
He said, “I really, really like cooking, but, because of my work, I spend a lot of time in hotels and it gets frustrating. A hotel for two weeks is a holiday, but a hotel for three weeks is like a sort of strange hospital. My signature dish would be cawl, a Welsh broth.” One of the reasons why the 43-year-old star loves the recipe, which is a type of stew traditionally made with lamb and root vegetables, is because it requires minimum effort.

Mark thrilled to play the Hulk
Mark Ruffalo is thrilled to be playing his favourite comic-book character in a new movie.
The actor was delighted to be offered the role of Bruce Banner and his alter ego The Incredible Hulk in The Avengers because it was someone he had always been fascinated by.
He said, “I grew up loving the Hulk. He was by far my favourite comic-book character, and I always used to watch the TV show, which was brilliant. You could see him struggling with the human aspect of what was happening.”
