Mary Peter and Induja entered the second round of the under-12 girls singles event at the 2nd T. Chandrasekhar Reddy Memorial junior state level tennis tournament being held at the Indus World School on Monday.
Mary registered a comfortable 6-1 win over Sruthi to advance to the next round. Induja dished out an excellent performance to prevail over Akshada with a 6-4 scoreline. It was a bad day for Sruthi as she down to P. Reshma in the under-14 event. Reshma won 6-2.
Among the boys, P.V. Gnana Bhaskar and Akshath Kumar had easy outings in the first round of the under-14 event. While Gnana Bhaskar blanked S. Vamsikrishna 6-0, Akshath downed N. Harshavardhan with identical scores. B. Varun vanquished S. Nikhileshwar 6-1. In the under-14 qualifying round, Sandeep got the better of K.G. Sandeep 6-4. Gnana Deep Reddy and P. Nehal also made it to the next round.
While Gnana Deep defeated Chalsani Avinash 6-2, Nehal beat Mandeep 6-4.
