Andhra MLAs in Delhi to lobby for Cabinet berths

In view of chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s visit to the capital on Saturday to discuss the issue of Cabinet formation with the high command, nearly 30 MLAs from Andhra Pradesh have landed in Delhi to lobby for Cabinet berths.
Former ministers, namely Parthasarathy, Botsa Satyanaraya, Docca Manikka Vara Prasad and J.C. Divakar Reddy, were also in New Delhi. Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, brother of former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekara Reddy and uncle of rebel MP Jaganmohan Reddy, made his presence felt by praising the party, Mr K.K. Reddy and his nephew Jaganmohan. Botsa Satyanarayana, according to sources, is all set to become the new Pradesh Congress Committee chief of Andhra Pradesh.
While interacting with the media, Mr Vivekananda Reddy said that Jagan was neither opposed to the party nor opposed to the high command. Jagan is not against the party.
He is also not against the leadership, asserted Mr Vivekananda Reddy.
Asked for his views on the new chief minister, Mr Reddy said: “He is a transparent man known for his gentlemanly qualities. He will carry everybody with him irrespective of caste, religion and region.”
Asked if he was in the gunning for a Cabinet berth, Mr Reddy restricted himself by saying: “If the chief minister invites me to join his Cabinet, I shall do so to serve the people and implement all the welfare measures. At the same time, he refused to get drawn into a controversy by refusing to answer when asked if the new chief minister would have a free hand in finalising the Cabinet.
Former minister J.C. Divakar Reddy, when asked if he would be a minister in the new Cabinet, said, “The high command knows everything. They would decide that.”
Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, when asked by reporters if he was expecting a new assignment, said, “I will go by whatever the high command orders.”
On Telangana, he said, ‘I stand by whatever I had said earlier. He had earlier declared that he was in favour of a separate state of Telangana. When asked for his opinion on Kiran Kumar, he said, I have faith in the abilities of the new chief minister. I believe he would continue to be a CM for long period.
