Teens often get into a relationship for fun, companionship and a little bit of sharing and caring. And while most of these relationships get over in a short span of time, the ones that last longer set an example.

Take a look at a few celeb teen relationships that have lasted long — Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, Twilight couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Kevin Jonas, the eldest from the Jonas brothers trio, who married his sweetheart Danielle. They have proved that it doesn’t only lead to maturity and stability, but also individual growth without hampering academics more than those of people in short-term relationships.
Teens, however, have their own opinion in matters pertaining to love. While some feel it’s good to be in a stable relationship, there are a few who enjoy their freedom.
Neha Jain, a 19-year-old college student, who has been in a relationship for the last two years thinks it has helped her in many ways. “I don’t keep switching from one guy to another like my friends. Even if you look at young celebs today, they aren’t really partner hopping. It’s no more cool to be changing partners. For instance, I’m happy and content with my relationship and love the fact that I have a boyfriend who understands me,” she says.
Ashbi Kuriakose, a Class 12 student, brushing up her memory, remembers a line from a book where it was mentioned that there are two kinds of relationships — like muffins and doughnuts. “Teens easily fall for doughnuts, which with its crispiness makes us swoon with delight, but is momentary. On the other hand, muffins are simple and their sweet and savoury flavour lasts much longer,” she remarks, adding that teen relationships, mostly are for momentary happiness and are not meant for a lifetime. “I’d prefer to be single or in a temporary relationship for the time-being,” she says. However, Shivani Sharma, a 19-year-old college student says that investing in a relationship helps boost compatibility. “I’ve seen my elder sister like that,” says Shivani, who feels her 23-year-old sister is very secure in her life. “She started dating when they both were in school and now their relationship is much more than just a girlfriend-boyfriend tag,” she adds.
