Both houses of Parliament were adjourned till noon for the 20th day on Thursday over the Opposition's demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the 2G spectrum controversy.
Proceedings in the Lok Sabha began with Speaker Meira Kumar welcoming a delegation from Mongolia. As soon as she asked the House to take up the question hour, Opposition members rushed towards the Speaker's podium demanding a JPC probe.
The Speaker urged them to allow question hour to proceed, but the members kept shouting slogans of "We want JPC". She then adjourned the House till noon. Similar scenes were witnessed in the Rajya Sabha with the Opposition members pressing for their demand for a JPC probe. The House was adjourned till noon.
This is the 20th successive sitting of the Lok Sabha when the Opposition has forced adjournment of the question hour over this demand. The Rajya Sabha has also seen such adjournments since November 10, a day after the Winter Session of Parliament began.
