Girl raped in car; 4 held, including a 15-year-old

Barely three weeks after the Dhaula Kuan gangrape, yet another incident of a girl being abducted and raped in a moving car was reported from Sultanpuri in outer Delhi. The accused, three men and a minor, have been apprehended. The girl has alleged that while one of the accused raped her, the other three were involved in kidnapping.
The accused Rama, 28, allegedly raped the girl while Chanderpal, 23, Manish, 25, and a 15-year-old boy helped in abducting her, the police said.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP), outer district, Chhaya Sharma said, “All the four accused have been apprehended. We located the girl in the car along with two men at 12.30 am. Beer cans were found in the car.”
Around 600-700 policemen combed six police station areas for about two hours before they could locate the victim.
The victim and her neighbour Ravi were going to a factory where her mother works at around 10.20 pm.
“The accused allegedly passed lewd comments at the girl. An argument ensued and the girl threw a bunch of keys at the car damaging a window pane,” she said.
The men asked her to compensate for the damage and then dragged her into the car and drove away.
According to the girl, the men argued with her for compensation in the car and after an hour, the minor boy and Manish disembarked. She was taken to a secluded place in Mangolpuri where she was allegedly raped.
“The neighbour Ravi informed the police at 10.24 pm but could not provide the registration number of the car. Later at 11.05 pm, Ravi again called the police after a tent owner gave him the number of the car,” said the officer. According to the victim, the men first drove towards Nangloi and later took a turn towards Mangolpuri.
Rama is the owner of the Hyundai Accent car. Rama, Chanderpal and Manish were produced in a city court and were remanded to judicial custody for 14 days while the minor boy has been taken to juvenile home. This is the fourth incident of abduction and rape in the city in the past 40 days.
A teenage DU student was gangraped in Mandavli on November 3. Later, a 30-year-old call centre employee was abducted and raped in south Delhi. Last week five persons were arrested for abducting and raping a woman in Seemapuri.
