Two persons have been arrested by the special cell of Delhi police for allegedly manufacturing and supplying illegal guns. The police seized material to make more than 100 countrymade revolvers.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Hashim alias Malik, 52, and Mohammad Sagir, 32, were arrested from East Vinod Nagar, east Delhi, on Friday evening when they were about to cut a deal. The police recovered one countrymade revolver from each of the two.
Hashim revealed that he had set up a manufacturing unit in the rear of a shop in R-Block, East Vinod Nagar. Ostensibly, he had set up a shop for cycle repairs and sale of small gas cylinders. Hashim, a resident of Baghpat, UP, wa involved in more than a dozen cases of Arms Act and NDPS Act.
