Huge quantities of bombs and explosives have been seized from a shop and a suspected NDFB supporter was apprehended during a search operation in Assam’s Kamrup (Rural) district on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, troops of 8 maratha light infantry launched an operation at Kamargaon Bazaar and seized the bombs and explosives from the shop which sells yarn, officials said.
The security forces recovered seven detonators, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing more than one kg and over 7 kg of explosives.
The brother of the shop owner, a suspected NDFB militant, was later arrested, they added.
