Police on Tuesday rescued a teenage girl in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested her alleged abductor within five hours of receiving the complaint, an official spokesperson said.
A special team of police, formed after a complaint was filed about the kidnapping of the 17-year-old girl from Tangmarg, 36 kms from here, nabbed the abductor within hours of crime, he said.
"A search was launched in the area and with the cooperation from civilians, police recovered the girl at Baramulla within five hours after we received the complaint," the spokesman said.
The alleged abductor, identified as Mashook Ahmad Malik of Singhpora village of Pattan in Baramulla district, has been arrested by the police.
The girl, whose name has been withheld, was handed over to her parents after completing legal formalities, he added.
