Muzaffarnagar: In view of a ban imposed by Muslim clerics on use of Disc Jockeys (DJs) by community members during weddings, hundreds of imams in the district have decided to keep away from marriages where their services are being utilised.
Several ulemas, including Maulana Mohd Salim of Deoband under banner of Muttahid-Mahaz Organisation (United Front) yesterday decided to boycott such marriages where DJs perform saying it is against the Islamic law.
The Muslim clerics of Jamiat Ulema Hind had called for a ban on using Disc Jockeys (DJ) and display of dowry goods by community members during weddings' saying it is against Shariat law on December 31.
