Kolkata, Jan. 22: Poster boy of Indian table tennis, Sharath Kamal, battling a viral influenza, easily won against Anirban Nandi 4-0.
Sharath Kamal was challenged in the third set when the veteran Nandi took a 5-3 lead, but eventually wilted to the big and powerful smashings by the Indian ace. In the semifinals, Sharath Kamal will face Tamil Nadu’s R. Abhishek who ousted last year's runners-up Chakraborty. Down 0-2, Abhishek made a spirited comeback as he wrapped up the game 4-2. Abhishek said he gained confidence from a similar situation last year. “I was down in three sets before coming back against Chakraborty,” he said.
